Cancer tumors grow very fast and that is because of the fact that cancer cells proliferate quickly. 2.5 tablespoons of flaxseeds increases the cancer cells death rate. Another study showed that women with breast cancer who consumed flaxseeds while fighting the disease, lived longer compared to the women who didn’t consume flaxseeds. All in all, flaxseeds are natural prevention against breast cancer and they can fight the already existing cancer cells. A person with breast cancer should consult their doctor in order to make a nutrition plan with increased amount of flaxseeds in the diet.

How To Study Abroad On A Budget
When it comes to studying abroad, you should be worrying about how to squeeze all that awesomeness into one semester, not about how to pay for it. Since studying abroad for free isn’t realistic (unless you have a full scholarship), we’ve compiled seven ways to study abroad for cheap. After all, not all the best things in life are free.
1. BROWSE THROUGH SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID OPTIONS.
There are a ton of study abroad scholarships out there. Some are specific to a location, field of study, or international program provider. You won’t get any money for your study abroad experience unless you apply, so don’t be too shy to fill out an application! There are a variety of scholarship databases and directories out there that can help you narrow down your search and select funding option that you are eligible for.
But before you start a broad search for study abroad scholarships, don’t forget to ask your university or academic institution at home about your eligibility for financial aid that can be applied toward a study abroad program (yes, it actually exists!). Also, once you select the study abroad program of your dreams, be sure to ask if they offer any type of scholarship opportunities for program participants; many third party program providers (like) offer scholarships of their own for eligible participants.
2. FIND AN AFFORDABLE PROGRAM.
Your college or university might offer its own study abroad programs or provide direct exchange opportunities abroad where you only have to pay your home school tuition to take courses overseas. You can also look into more cost effective study abroad programs, such as those in what are considered cheap study abroad destinations; there are plenty of them out there. Keep in mind that some of the more affordable programs may entail studying abroad for a shorter period of time, like a J-term, May-term, or even over the summer.
3. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT’S INCLUDED IN YOUR PROGRAM.
Some third party study abroad program providers are more inclusive than others. Always check to see what’s included in the program costs and what extra costs there may be, so you can compare programs equally. A program fee that only includes tuition may seem like the best way to study abroad cheaply, when in reality a slightly more expensive study abroad program may provide housing, meals, health insurance, and field trips, that add up to less than you would pay for those items a la carte with the cheaper program.
4. PREP BEFORE YOU GO.
Call your bank to let them know that you’re heading abroad and when. While you’re on the phone, check to make sure your credit card won’t charge you international fees. If they do, consider a card with no fees for your time overseas. Also, think about limiting the amount of cash you plan to bring with you. This will help to curb spending and force you to budget for the activities you really want to do.
Also, pack smart; be mindful about what you bring so you don’t have to buy any clothes while abroad. Layers are always a great bet and are extremely versatile for traveling across a few different climates.
5. TRAVEL SMART.
Keep your eye out for discounts on airfare to get cheap flights to your study abroad destination. You can set up alerts on sites like Airfarewatchdog or Skyscanner. Tuesdays around 3 p.m. EST are known as the optimal day and time to purchase flights, and doing so 50 to 100 days before your departure is best.
Want to fit in as much as you can while abroad? Plan travel before and after your study abroad experience. This saves on costly flights back to a destination, and may even enable to you to stay with new friends once your program is over.
Another cheap study abroad travel option is exploring your host city. Instead of spending money on planes or trains each weekend you’re abroad, stay local and explore the intricacies of the city you’re in. If you’re in a small town, consider taking day trips instead of weekend trips as costs for lodging are typically cheaper during the week.
6. LIVE LIKE A LOCAL.
As a study abroad student, don’t spend money like a tourist dining out on the town each night. Shop at a local market and cook cuisine at home, or ask a local student where to dine out for cheap. This can help you meet people, learn new recipes, and explore areas of town you might not venture to otherwise.
For the most part, public transportation is the cheapest way to travel while studying abroad. Learn the local system and you’ll usually save money. This varies in some countries, but walking is always free! In general, use your best judgment, and go with a safe transportation option.
7. USE YOUR STUDENT DISCOUNT.
Most study abroad students are required to purchase an International Student Identity Card (ISIC), or it may be included in program fees. These ISIC cards provide student discounts on transportation, museums, hostels, books, etc. in 130+ countries. Also, don’t be afraid to ask local students where they hang out or what kind of deals do they take advantage of as students.
The cheapest way to travel may not be on a study abroad program, but by using the tips above you may find your study abroad experience to be A LOT cheaper than if you don’t. In the end, study abroad is worth the cost.

How Does an Online Degree Work?
ONLINE DEGREE PROGRAMS
Distance learning degrees are available through traditional two-year community colleges, four-year universities and private online schools. There is a wide variety of fully-online programs, although some schools utilize a hybrid format which combines online and campus-based classes. Hybrid learning is more common for majors that require hands-on training, such as engineering or allied health fields.
Class formats for online degrees vary, and it’s important for students to enroll in a class format that fits their schedule. The more traditionally scheduled class assigns and requires students to complete regular assignments and tests by certain dates throughout the semester. A self-paced course allows students to work at whatever pace they may wish, for as long as necessary to complete the course. Many classes fall somewhere in between these two formats and require students to have all work submitted by a particular date at the end of the semester.
LEARNING METHODS
Because online degrees are not set in a physical classroom, students are required to show some sort of participation, either by posting a certain number of times on the class discussion boards or by completing assignments with other students. In hybrid classes, this requirement is usually waived, as students must show up for a physical class on certain days throughout the semester. In continuing education programs or degree programs for working adults, this participation requirement may be less stringent.
Most online classes are presented via a website that integrates forums, an instant messenger, e-mail and streaming audio and video. Programs also offer testing and real-time assignment review capabilities to create an online classroom environment for students. This ‘virtual classroom’ allows students to interact with each other and communicate with their teachers, along with viewing class calendars or informational posts. Teachers have the option of posting lectures and assignments as video, audio or text files.

Online degree programs are a popular option nowadays because they give students — especially busy adults — flexibility in when and where they complete coursework. That said, prospective distance learners should make sure they are prepared to take on independent learning. While instructors often provide feedback and have set due dates for work, students must be motivated to complete readings and projects without the benefit of in-person assistance. A basic level of proficiency in using the Internet and computer applications is necessary, as are solid reading and writing skills.
TECH REQUIREMENTS

College-bound students leaving home for the first time are faced with making their own decisions about many things that affect their well-being. Here are some health tips to consider.

It should come as no surprise that eating right is at the top of the list of healthy behaviors. The adage “you are what you eat” is true. Your physical and mental resiliency depend upon your body receiving adequate nutrition.
Consuming foods with large amounts of sugar, salt, and saturated fats can compromise your immune system and lead to illness. It also can sap the energy you need to meet all your responsibilities. Your body requires nourishment to deal with the stresses of college life. Eating poorly can lead to obesity, sickness, fatigue, anxiety, and other undesirable conditions.
Most colleges and universities do not allow students to cook food in the dorms. However, you can keep your room stocked with snacks like fruit and nuts. This might help curb the temptation to order pizza or get fast food when you feel hungry.
Make good choices in the school’s cafeteria or dining hall. You have heard it a million times: Eat a balanced diet. That includes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and protein. Make sure you have something from each food group every day. Ideally, the volume of vegetables in your diet should exceed that of meat.
This does not mean you have to survive on tofu and leafy vegetables, though you might be surprised by what you can do with such ingredients. Inevitably, you will eat some pizza, burgers, and fried bar snacks. These foods are linked to opportunities to make friends and socialize, which are important elements of the college experience. Practice moderation when enjoying junk food.

Making the healthy snacking choice might be as simple as flicking a switch: You’re more likely to choose healthy foods in a brightly lit room than in a dim one, a new study in the Journal of Marketing Research suggests.
People who ordered in bright rooms were 24 percent more likely to choose nutritious foods—like salads, vegetables, and grilled fish—than those who ordered in darker establishments.
On average, the people in the dim restaurants ordered 39 percent more calories than those in lighter places.
Bright lighting may nudge you toward healthier foods by keeping your brain alert, says lead study author Dipayan Biswas, Ph.D., a marketing professor at the University of South Florida.
That’s because light suppresses your brain’s production of the sleep-regulating hormone melatonin, keeping you awake and attentive.
And that makes you more likely to make mindful decisions—for example, to choose a side of broccoli over fries—rather than give in to the temptation of indulgences, Biswas says
Of course, you can’t change the lighting in a restaurant, but you can put these findings to work in your own kitchen.
When you’re on the hunt for a snack, make sure the lights in your kitchen are working in your favor: Flip your dimmer switch to the brightest setting and keep your blinds open to let sunlight in.
If you do find yourself in a dimly-lit restaurant, start your meal with a cup of tea or coffee first.
The researchers say that caffeine may have an effect similar to bright lighting, keeping your brain alert to help you make smarter eating choices.

Goses are German-style sour wheat beers brewed with coriander and salt, which adds a sort of umami characteristic missing from other beer styles. And you won’t find a better American-made gose than this one, Simpson says: It’s tart and acidic enough to satisfy the sour heads, but has a crisp, subtly sweet finish to win over any novice beer lovers.

This is another hot session IPA that’s “more aggressively bitter than a pale ale,” says Julia Herz, the Craft Beer Program Director for the Brewers’ Association.
After Great Lakes suggested pairing the malty, citrusy ale with spicy chicken tacos and a lazy river, we did just that. And it was glorious.

Boasting a solid hop profile and a nice, smooth finish, “it’s one of the few brews made in the U.S. that proves lagers can have plenty of flavor and body and still be relatively light,” he says.

If you’re someone who reaches for the leftovers with not a thought, these danger dishes might give you a shock.
Leftovers are something that many of us have a love-hate relationship with. We hate that it doesn’t taste as good as when it was freshly made, but we love the fact that it only takes a couple of minutes in the microwave to make it ready for consumption.
Modern cooking is often about the microwave, as we heat up leftovers, batches cooked up earlier and more.
But did you know that dinner might not be the only thing you’re preparing, as food poisoning could be on the menu, too?
According to the Food Standards Agency, the secret to making sure you eat safely is in the four Cs – cooking, cleaning, chilling, and cross-contamination – or avoiding it.
They say that that it’s important to cook food thoroughly, particularly meat, to kill any harmful bacteria that may be present.
But when it comes to reheating food, you must make sure it is steaming hot all the way through, and don’t reheat food more than once.
Here are seven foods you should take care to avoid reheating unless you want to book a day away from work – and in the bathroom instead.
Rice
The problem with eating leftover rice mainly stems from the way it is stored. According to the Food Standards Agency, uncooked rice may contain spores of harmful bacteria that survive throughout the initial cooking process. If leftover rice is not kept at the right temperature, these spores will spread and multiply, and may cause digestion problems such as diarrhea or vomiting if consumed.
Reheating the rice doesn’t help, as these are spores that are able to survive even boiling hot temperatures. It is best to eat all of your rice right after it is cooked, however if you do have some left over, put it in your fridge or your freezer immediately after you are finished with it. Don’t let it sit at room temperature for longer than an hour, as the longer it is left out the more these dangerous spores will spread.
Vegetable Oil
Reheating meals made with vegetable oil for leftovers may put you at risk of heart disease, stroke, and even cancer. New research has found that repeatedly heating up polyunsaturated oils that have linoleic acid like canola, corn, soybean and sunflower oils, may release a toxic compound that can cause a variety of health disorders.
The compound in question is a fatty acid-derived toxin that is called 4-hydroxy-trans-2-nonenal (HNE). Numerous studies have linked consumption of HNE to many serious health conditions including cardiovascular disease, stroke, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s disease, liver ailments and cancer.
According to American Dietetic Association spokeswoman Jeannie Moloo, heating vegetable oils too much or constantly reheating them can release HNE.
“If a person is concerned about the health aspects of HNE, then my recommendations would be to never heat any oil to the point of smoking and, as far as cooking at home goes, just use the oil one time,” she said.

Although many people claim that reheating leafy greens makes them poisonous, it is actually the way they are stored that can make them potentially dangerous.
According to the Center for Food Safety, leftover vegetables should be put into an area where the temperature is below 4 degrees Celsius or below, and if you are planning on storing these vegetables for longer than 12 hours you should freeze them.
This is because many vegetables, such as lettuce, spinach, celery, and beets, contain high amounts of a compound called nitrate. Although nitrate itself is not harmful, if vegetables are left out at room temperature bacterial action will cause the accumulation of nitrite, which is a metabolite of nitrate.
Nitrate consumption has been known to be harmful to infants and young children as it can cause a blood disorder called methemoglobinemia, which symptoms include headaches, fatigue, shortness of breath and seizures.
